Hello all! I’m Mary Rose Luksha, the first student to post to the blog. I’ll probably be remembered as ‘that girl who posts first’ for the duration of the trip, but posting to this blog is a much more appealing alternative to the homework I still haven’t done, even though there is one day of class left. In the photo I posted, I’m on a Ferris wheel (and loving it) in Ocean City Maryland. If I pass all of my classes this semester, I will be a senior theatre major at Temple. As you can tell by my last name, I am not Irish, but that does not diminish my love for Irish things. You probably think I’m nerdy, posting first and all, so let me solidify that notion by saying that I’m really interested in Stone Age Ireland and the myths surrounding the Neolithic structures. I’m also interested in the pagan ideas and legends of the Celts. But I like normal things too, like beer, and Irish authors. I read a lot of Yeats, and love the plays of Samuel Beckett and Martin Mc Donaugh, The Lieutenant of Inishmore in particular. I love traveling and meeting new people, and I’m psyched for this summer!
